Tee To Green

Thoughts and photographs as I play and watch golf.

Tournament week at the Barclays is in full swing, no pun intended. Hospitality tents sit partially filled until competitive rounds begin tomorrow at Bethpage State Park’s Black Course.
The most impressive buildout is on the par 3, #17. Completely surrounded by hospitality tents and grandstands, it is being called the “Black Hole.”
Even more daunting than #17 is the par 4, #18. With a narrow fairway, even a straight drive can catch one of the bunkers. If you miss the fairway bunkers, which I did not, you face an uphill short iron into a green heavily guarded by even more bunkers.
Good luck to the Barclays field in the first playoff event of the PGA Tour season!
